How to help locally in Southwest Florida:

Last year's "Monofilament Madness Cleanup"
was held on Sunday, October 25, 2009 with collection sites at the Mound House on Fort Myers Beach and Tarpon Point Marina in Cape Coral.

This KLCB Marine Cleanup is an annual event during which volunteers go out in boats, kayaks, canoes, jet skis and anything else that floats, to remove monofilament fishing line and other harmful debris from the mangrove areas of Lee County.
